Bin Wang is a dancer and choreographer. Prior to came to New Zealand, he was a dancer in Lanzhou Theatre Company China for six years and as musical theatre dancer in Shiki Theatre Company in Japan to perform Cats and Wicked for another five years. He completed his Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts (Contemporary Dance) from Unitec and has worked with many local and international dancers and choreographers ever since. He has performed in Italian Opera ‘The Juniper Passion’ and has worked with Maori choreographer Moss Patterson to participated in contemporary dance ‘AWA’ during the Auckland Arts Festival 2017. He has also portrayed the leading role as ‘Gu Cheng’ in Chinese Play ‘A Poet’ at The Pumphouse Theatre , he was also the choreographer for the play.
From his diverse professional dancing careers, Bin appreciated all kinds of dance types, and understanding that information and education of Chinese traditional and folk dances are not readily available across many places in New Zealand. Bin eager to offer his professional skills and knowledge to the local communities.
